The crisis in the embattled Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has turned a new curve. A Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers says former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, is the authentic Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
His contemporary, former Kaduna Governor, Ahmed Makarfi, may either have to head for the Supreme Court, or, as has been speculated, leave with others in droves to form a new coalition.
Makarfi and Sheriff, until the Portharcourt declaration, headed separate factions of the PDP, which has continued its downward spiral since it lost the presidential election in 2015.
