If you are a Nigerian , and earn about N60,000 per month; but can feed, cloth, pay medical bills for yourself and family with another N30,000 within the period, then this is good news for you.
Under a Social Housing Programme, the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has announced that for as low as N30,000 monthly, mortgages would be available to help low income earning Nigerians own a house.
It is part of a N100 billion Family Home Fund, he said in Abuja Monday.
He described the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programmes as been very successful.
Osinbajo spoke at an event to project the achievements of the SIP in Abuja.
His words, “Most importantly, we have ensured that our programmes are in all states, not just the APC states, so much so that some of the governors in non-APC states even take credit for these Federal Government’s programmes.”
“A country’s economic development is a function of the number living above poverty level.
“Our levels of poverty are so alarming that clearly some fundamental interventions by government are necessary.
“Often, our economic development plans and budgets assume a trickle down approach namely that if we put resources in promoting industry and commerce,  jobs would eventually be created and the poorest will be reached.”
