Judge stops Okorocha’s controversial 60% slash of pensioners money

Must read

A National Industrial Court (NIC) Judge in Owerri, Wednesday, has stopped Governor Rochas Okorocha, in his tracks in his move to slash pensioners payments by 60%.
Justice Olufunke Anuwe declared a form given to pensioners to agree to the slash as illegal and unconstitutional.
Okorocha has come under intense criticisms; but it was the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Owerri Branch, that took the bull by the horn and filed a case against the move fee of charge on behalf of the pensioners.
The court also issued an order of perpetual injunction against the State Government and its agents from carrying out the slash.
In his reaction, the NBA Chairman , Barr. Lawrence Nwakaeti, gave glory to God for what it described as the wonderful judgement of Justice Anuwe.
He praised the perpetual restraint on the Imo State Government and its agents from carrying out in any manner the contents of the controversial document.
