Drama, ‘Drevans’, Drama; Evans pleads guilty 24 hours after ‘seeking’ freedom

Must read

There is no end to the drama called Evans the kidnapper. 24 hours after a lawyer sought to get a court to enforce his fundamental human rights by securing his freedom, Evans, the notorious kidnapper today pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy and kidnapping.
Just yesterday, a lawyer said to be representing the kidnapper took the Police to the cleaners outside the court for stalling efforts to enforce Evan’s rights, as the court adjourned to September 5.
Justice Abdulaziz Anka is slated to hear arguments from Evan’s lawyer and police lawyers on why he should not deliver judgement on the enforcement of his fundamental rights, after the Police lawyer, Commissioner David Igbodo, “arrested” the judgement Tuesday.
Igbodo argued the court had to hear the Police side, after disowning the lawyer who had been appearing for the Police all along.
Evan’s lawyer, outside the court, after the Tuesday’s ruling, described the Police Legal Department as ignorant.
But ignorance took a different meaning early Wednesday when Evans, real names Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and kidnapping, together with other accomplices at an Ikeja High Court.
Another member of the gang, a lady, pleaded not guilty, but the court adjourned until October 19 for the continuation of the drama.
