Card reader: APC RAISES ALARM

The APC has raised alarm that some ‘electoral criminals’ have perfected a rigging technique that allegedly compromises the electronic card reading machine of INEC and disables its ability to properly identify ownership of the PVC .

This criminal activity according to the party, ensures that several people can use the PVC without the card reader uploading the photograph to identify who owns it.
These claims were made during a world press conference, addressed by the Osun chairman of the APC,  Prince Gboyega Famodun, in Osogbo today.
The party quoted ‘reliable’ sources for these allegation.
Prince Famodun further alleged that this rigging technique had been used successfully during the last Osun West Senatorial bye election, which resulted in the PDP having more votes than it would have had legitimately.
Another troubling revelation at the press conference was that those the electoral criminals used to compromise the electronic card reader were the youth corpers in charge of operating the device
The party also alleged that this rigging technique is executed at a critical time during the accreditation process.
The APC further claimed that ‘encouraged by their success during the last Senatorial bye election in the Osun West Senatorial district, the criminal diggers now plan to extend their operation throughout the state on Saturday during the governorship election.
‘As a result of this concerning development,  the APC is urging INEC to allow party agents scrutinise the verification process in order to confirm the PVC holder’s image on the card reader’.
Prince Famodun also argued, ‘that security agents should equally be involved in the process so that the youth corpers who will be used to perform this fraud directly during the verification process should be under strict observation so that the card reader will not be compromised,  the APC insisted.
The party chairman further said that this information is especially intended to alert INEC to tighten security around the processing and voting enabled by the card reader.
Finally, the APC insisted that youth corpers who will handle the card readers need to be supervised and protected from ‘desperate politicians who will do everything criminal to win against all odds’.
