Barring any last minute changes, almost all the entire work force in the country may shut down from Thursday over the breakdown of wage increase talks.
The major labour unions: the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the United Labour Congress (ULC) appear agreed to shut down offices and the country. They have advised citizens to stock foods and other needs.
It is not clear yet how this will affect the Osun rerun polls slated for Thursday, the day workers have slated for the strike action to commence.
Memos to mobilise workers have already been sent to mobilise workers and prime them to sit at home.
