Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Defence Minister, General Theophilus Danjuma were unanimous Friday that former President of the Senate and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential contender, Senator David Mark, is a competent and patriotic Nigerian worthy to lead the nation.
The presidential aspirant met the two leaders separately at Abeokuta and Lagos respectively ahead of the National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
They were of the opinion that Senator Mark possesses the requisite skill, knowledge and experience needed to put the nation back on track, saying that he has over the years demonstrated unwavering commitment to the ideals of nationhood.
The two parleys were however held behind closed doors but at the end of the meetings, Senator Mark said “I have come to brief our leaders of my ambition and to seek their guidance and blessings. I am happy to report that I got their endorsement.
“I am grateful for this gesture. I promise to do only those things that would give them pride and honor. I am flattered by their show of affection and encouragement. I can only promise not to let them down”.
Senator Mark reiterated that his priority is to do everything possible to bring peace, unity and progress to the nation if elected.
