Kaduna govt slams 24-hour curfew on community after bloody violence

Must read

Following violence in Kasuwan Magani community, the Kaduna State government has slammed a 24-hour curfew on the community, which had witnessed similar violence there early this year.
A source said a man was caught after he stole a cow. “Those who caught him began to beat him up, but his friends came to his rescue and there was a free-for-all which spiralled out of control.
“Many took sides as a result of the tension and distrust on ground. As the violence grew and casualties increased, a curfew came into place. The casualty figures are not yet known,” he said.
He applauded the curfew so as to stop the bloodshed.
Samuel Aruwan, spokesman to the Kaduna Governor, Malam Nasir el Rufai, did not give details in the statement announcing the curfew.
But his statement read: “The Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24 hour curfew on the Kasuwan Magani community.
“Kasuwan Magani is situated in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
“The imposition of the 24 hour curfew is with immediate effect.”
