Keeping Port Harcourt clean: Contractors get 48 hours deadline

Must read

The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to four service providers who are yet to rid their operational zones of dirt to do so, or have their contracts terminated.
The affected Service Providers are:
*MANKOCHE VENTURES NIG. LTD., covering Oyigbo Road on the Left.
*IBEXCO NIG. LTD., covering Oyigbo Road on the Right.
*EMMACHEARC GLOBAL, covering Eneka, Igwuruta Road and Oroigwe axis.
*JOACME NIGERIA LTD., covering Oyigbo Junction to Imo River, including Oyigbo Location Road to Umuebulu Road.
Obuah, who issued the 48-hour ultimatum during his early morning monitoring of Roads in Port Harcourt and its environs on Thursday, May 2, 2019, said the deadline given to the contractors was necessitated by heaps of refuse currently dotting the affected zones, being covered by the affected Service Providers.
He said the Agency can no longer condone laxity of service providers who would not take their jobs seriously.
The Sole Administrator regretted that these unwelcome actions of non-performing waste disposal contractors amount to sabotage to the efforts of Governor Nyesom Wike who is doing everything possible to ensure a cleaner Rivers State.
He also warned all service providers doing business with the Agency to be alive to their responsibilities, adding that RIWAMA would not relent in its resolve to sustain the Garden City status of the State
