The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) is reaching out to President Muhammadu Buhari to ban inter-state movements, ensure intra-state ones but with a ban on large gatherings and assemblies. They also insist on a compulsory use of face masks and face coverings in public.
In a proposal to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, for onward transmission to the President before his next public pronouncement on COVID-19, the NGF head, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, stressed the need for a co-ordinated and uniformed response to the pandemic.
The NGF, however, wants the interstate lockdown to exempt vehicles conveying essential goods like foods, beverages, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, petroleum products, and agricultural produce..
