True riches and the truly rich

Must read

By Buti Sam Kputu
“Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money..Their trust should be in God..Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need…”
1 Timothy 6:17‭-‬19, NLT_l
Forbes, an American business magazine, features articles on finance, industry, investing, and marketing. It is more popular for rating the world’s richest people. Their basis is usually the networth and investment portfolio of such. This, in God’s sight, is FALSE riches.
God has His measure and rating for wealth and the rich. True wealth is to be measured in the quantum of “offshore investment” – what we deposit in our eternal account through loving generosity. And the truly rich are those who give liberally to the needy. It is not so much about our reserves as it is about what flows from us to others. In God’s eye, our ‘pipe worth’ (what flows from you out of love to the needy), not our net worth, is the true measure of wealth.
