Another state, Lagos, enters 24 hours curfew (Video)

Like a ravaging cancer, the #EndSARS protest against Police brutality and other issues in the polity, is taking a negative toll in lives and destruction of public and personal property as hoodlums across States and Abuja hijacked the protests.

In Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, joined his Edo State colleague to impose a 24-hour curfew on Nigeria’s commercial capital, raising fears of a ripple effect on the nation’s economy, if it holds beyond a day.

At a Police state, a viral video showed hoodlums carting away weapons, sending chilling fear into residents

In a tweet, Sanwo-Olu, who pleaded to no avail for the #EndSARS protest to end, wrote: “Dear Lagosians,

“I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella of these protests to unleash mayhem on our state. As a government that is alive to its responsibility and has shown a commitment to the movement #ENDSARS, we will not watch and allow anarchy in our dear state.

“I, therefore, hereby impose a 24-hour curfew on all parts of the State as from 4pm today, 20th October, 2020. Nobody, except essential service providers and first responders must be found on the streets.”

Edo State government on Monday slammed a curfew on the state as violence spiralled beyond control.
