Emerging reports say popular preacher and tele-evangelist, Apostle Johnson Suleiman’s convoy has been attacked by gunmen, but he managed to escape though at least five persons, including uniformed policemen, were not so lucky. They were shot dead
Details of the attack on Suleiman are still being awaited, though an unverified, gory video of persons that were killed in the attack surfaced at about 6.00 p.m. The attack happened around Auchi, the home-base of the popular preacher. Everyday.ng cannot post the video for now, because it has not been verified and is gory.
The troubling news comes as the Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, announced the arrest of most of the heavily armed gunmen that attacked the Senator representing Anambra South zone, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, a few weeks ago.
Ubah lost two of his personal aides as well as security operatives in the attack.
Soludo made the disclosure at the St. Theresa Catholic Parish Enuagu Enugwu-Ukwu during the burial mass of late Boniface Okonkwo Nwankwo, the late father of Hon Dozie Nwankwo of the Federal House of Representatives.
The Governor said more details will be made public soon on the arrests.
He urged politicians to always embrace dialogue instead of resorting to violence and bloodshed, which Anambra was never known for.
“We are peaceful people,” he said, noting that gunmen and troublemakers like them are already fleeing the state.
He praised the Late Pa Nwankwo for living a life of impact that mattered
Hon. Dozie Nwankwo commended his guests including President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by his wife, Aisha, who joined virtually through the Zoom platform.
He thanked well-wishers, among whom were top government officials and members of the national Assembly who braved all odds to visit in person.
