Thirty-three days after he left the country for France to rest, and with 35 days to his inauguration as President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has returned to Nigeria.
He was received at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday by Vice President-elect and former Borno Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima, Plateau Governor, Barrister Simon Lalong, and a motley crowd of supporters at the airport.
Accompanied by wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the President-elect touched down in Abuja at about 4.30 p.m., over six hours after supporters thronged the airport for his arrival.
Tinubu left for France on March 22, 2023, a few days after he was declared winner of the February 25 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu. The victory is a subject of litigation at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
