Heirs, not spares

Must read

I have been reading an intriguing story of a popular Prince. In his book titled “SPARE”, the prince outlines the pains, shame and crisis of identity arising from being treated as a “SPARE”, even though born a Prince.

All who are born of God in  Christ Jesus are  “…a royal priesthood, a holy nation … kings and priests” (1Pet. 2:9; Rev.1:6). This comes with immense privileges and responsibilities.

As priests, we stand before God making intercession primarily on behalf of others. The Lord hears such pleas, and either averts judgement or rains blessings.

As Kings, we stand before men on God’s behalf, not as mere preachers but to enforce divine decrees. This  requires authority and courage.

Jesus Christ is God’s anointed heir, and all believers in Him are co-heirs. “If we are children, we are also heirs, even the heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ” (Rom 8:17)
In Christ Jesus there are no spares, we are all heirs.
