APC presidential aspirants urge Buhari to reject N45m form

Must read

A group of three presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC), styling themselves as the Coalition of 2019 APC Presidential Aspirants has demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari should reject the N45 million nomination forms purchased for him by a group.
The men, Dr. SKC Ogbonnia, Chief Charles Udeogaranya, and Alhaji Mumakai Unagha say the purchase of the form fundamentally contravenes Section 91 (9) of the Electoral Law adding that the offer runs contrary to the President’s anti-corruption crusade.
“Though some aspirants can afford the exorbitant cost of the forms, such amount is clearly not affordable to many others, including President Buhari and particularly the youths and women of our great party, APC,” they insist.
They further called on the ruling party to scrap nomination fees, in line with the laws of land, without further delay.
The aspirants warn that failure to meet their demands will give them no other option “than to lead the masses in conducting the primaries in line with extant electoral laws and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
