In and out of Kaduna, the roads are going to be freer to travel as the State’s Security Council on Wednesday issued an advisory, notifying travelers that there are no longer going to be authorised checkpoints along the Kaduna-Abuja, Kaduna-Zaria and Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highways.

The State Government has also promised to rout criminals and bandits from its highways.

In an advisory by its Commissioner on Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, said any manned checkpoints on the routes should be considered and treated as illegal.

Road users were advised not to show compliance with any checkpoint on these routes and to report sightings to the Security Operation Centre on the following emergency lines: 09034000060 and 08170189999.

The Council requested for continuing vigilance by residents and warned that any conduct, under whatever guise, that threatens to undermine peace and security in the state will be dealt with decisively, in accordance with the law.
