The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC, says it has raided a night club and hauled in a massive number of alleged internet fraudster, in a raid which must definitely pass for the highest number of arrests from one operation in recent history.
Questions have arisen whether those arrested were not regular night clubbers caught in the midst of a sting operation, but the anti-graft agency says the suspects are currently undergoing further interrogation, and those indicted would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesman said operatives of the EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, on Monday, raided the Osogbo-based nightclub allegedly notorious for hosting parties for suspected internet fraudsters.
The raid also led to the confiscation of 19 exotic cars, laptops, scores of sophisticated mobile phones and other items.
Popularly known as ‘Club Secret Underground’, it is located on the Ibadan-Iwo Expressway of the Osun State capital.

“A discreet operation on the club had earlier been carried out to ascertain the authenticity of the intelligence.
“The confirmation led to the mega raid effected on Monday,” Uwujaren said in his statement.
