As part of the Medical Initiative for Africa Abuja’s (MIFAA) strategic support, the non-governmentalorganisation recently donated medical equipments worth about N1, 500 ,000 to the management of Asokoro District Hospital Abuja.
The MIFAA delegation was led by Dr Taiwo Fasoranti (President) accompanied by Dr Ebuta Agbor (Vice President), Dr Noel Arua (Director of Special Projects), Dr Ida Micheal (Director of Operations), and Dr Hafsat Sani Zangon Daura (Team Member)
MIFAA delegation was received by the Medical Director Dr Uche Afiomah, the Head, Clinical Services (HCS), Asokoro District Hospital, Dr Nnabuchi Chidi, and other Head of Departments and Units.
Early this year, MIFAA bought into the dream of the Office of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), working through the office of the Minister for State ( Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu).
MIFAA’s activities included engagement of stakeholders in and around the FCT in other to engender active participation and collaboration in ensuring a more robust access to health for Abuja citizens.
The group thanked the Special Adviser to the Honourable Minister of State, FCT, Mr Bayo Bello, for coordinating and making the project of helping Abuja hospital a success.
Recall that MIFFA had earlier donated life saving, high priority drugs to Asokoro District Hospital on the 15th of January 2020, and was back 18th February 2020, only this time, upped the ante with donation of equipment through the Office of the Minister for State, FCT.
Amongst items donated were: an Automated Electronic Infusion Pump, Oxygen Concentrator and Infusion stand. These were handed over to MIFAA by the family of Late Evangelist Olubunmi Nwobike as part of activities marking her first year remembrance.
Welcoming the team and receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the medical director, Dr Uche Afiomah, thanked MIFAA and assured all that the items will be used to meet the needs of patients that access care at Asokoro District Hospital and its environs.
