Plateau: PPC to get facelift as Lalong appoints new MD

The Plateau Publishing Corporation (PPC) is to undergo a facelift as Governor Simon Bako Lalong on Wednesday approved the appointment of Dr. Boniface Bakshuet Gwotbit as its new Managing Director.
Everyday.ng reportts that PPC, publishers of The Nigerian Standard Newspapers.came into being in 1972 but has suffered serious neglect from successive Governments.

Director of Press & Public Affairs to the Governor, in a press release signed and made available to newsmen in Jos said that until his appointment, Dr. Gwotbit was the Director Marketing of the Corporation, and has served in the organisation for 32 years.
The New MD according to the release, has a Ph.D degree in Business Administration from Barmenda International University Cameroon and was one time Management Committee Chairman of Mikang Local Government.
Governor Lalong charged the new Managing Director to leverage on his experience and work assiduously towards repositioning the Corporation in consonance with the dream of its founding fathers and the realities of today’s competitive and dynamic publishing industry.
Lalong stated that he wanted the Nigerian Standard Newspapers to be revived and be sustained to take its rightful place as one of the most vibrant newspapers in the country, as well as compete favourably in the media space.
He also charged the new leadership of the corporation to also focus on the commercial prosperity of the Corporation for self-sustenance.
