The Grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ

Must read

By Buti Sam Kputu

One of the most popular liturgies in the Christian faith is to “share the grace”. At the end of many a service or fellowship, we often chorus:

“May the grace our Lord Jesus Christ,
The love of God and the fellowship of The Holy Spirit, rest and abide with us…”

But what exactly is this “Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ”? Apostle Paul gives us a clue in a number of Scriptures:

¶ His grace produced HUMILITY – He exchanged divinity for humanity (Phil. 2:7)

¶ His Grace demanded SERVICE – He washed His Disciples’ feet (Jn.13:14)

¶ His Grace demanded OBEDIENCE – He went to the Cross for us (Phil. 2:8)_

¶ His Grace demanded SACRIFICE – He became poor so we could be enriched (2Cor.8:9)

Sharing the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, therefore, is not just a rhyme to rehash but a life to live.
