Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has been arrested and brought back to Nigeria, the Federal Government has announced.
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami(SAN), told journalists on Tuesday that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.
Malami says the trial of Kanu before the Federal High Court in Abuja will continue on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.
According to him, the arrest of the wanted separationist followed a collaborative effort between Nigeria’s security agencies and the International Police (Interpol).
