A
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth leader in the Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Ikamu Kato, who described President Muhammadu Buhari and the Secretary to the Government of the Fedration, Mr. Boss Mustapha, as useless over incessant killings in the state, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment.
He, however, has the option of paying a N25,000 fine.
Kato was sentenced by Chief Magistrate Dimas Elishama sitting in Yola, Adamawa State on Monday.
He was earlier remanded in prison custody after a group loyal to Mustapha laid a complaint against his comments on Facebook.
The office of the state Attorney General prosecuted the youth leader in a case in which the defendant pleaded guilty last week.
Kato lampooned Buhari and Mustapha over their failure to secure the lives of residents following an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the Dabna community.
Over 20 persons were killed by the terrorists in the contiguous community to that of Mustapha.
