The good news of the freeing of nearly 60 abductees by bandits in Kaduna is being tainted by reports of explosions rocking different communities around Maiduguri, the Borno State capital early this Saturday, reports from there says.
There have been no reports of serious casualty, except for a boy, though a building was said to have been destroyed.
Two explosions rocked Gomari airport and the third one landed on a building at One Thousand Housing Estate near Hajj Transit Camp where the repentant Boko Haram insurgents are kept.
A source said of the Kaduna abductees: “The 60-odd persons that were kidnapped in Chikun some weeks back have been rescued by troops of the Nigerian Army. One of the abductees…who is an uncle to friend, called…to say that they are in 44 Reference Military Hospital for medical check-up.”
