The PDP Governorship candidates in 10 States and how they emerged

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has picked the winners of its gubernatorial ticket in 12 states of the Federation.

At press time, the winners were as follows:

Mr Ibrahim Kashim, former Secretary to the State Government, emerged as the party’s governorship flag bearer in Bauchi.

Ibrahim Kashim was the only aspirant of the party in the state.

A former Chief of Staff to Ex Gov Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu State, Mr Peter Mbah, polled 790 votes to beat nine aspirants.

Expectedly, Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Adamawa counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri emerged as candidates in their states.

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori won the  ticket in Delta State.

Oborevwori, believed to be the preferred candidate of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, won the ticket.

Oborevwori polled 590 votes while David Edevbie scored 113 votes to come second, Senator James Manager polled 83 votes, Olorogun Fred Majemite polled 6 votes, Peter Mrakpor polled 9 votes, Kingsley Otuaro polled 9 votes, Omizu Odebala polled 4 votes and Kenneth Gbagi polled 1 vote.

A former member of the  House of Representatives, Mr David Ombugadu, clinched the  ticket in Nasarawa State.

In Gombe, Alhaji Jibrin Barde polled 160 votes to beat five other aspirants.

In Jigawa, Alhaji Mustafa Lamido, the son of former Gov. Sule Lamido of Jigawa, dusted other aspirant with 829 out of the 832 votes cast.

The Speaker of Benue House of Assembly, Mr Titus Uba, emerged with 731 out of the 851 votes beating others, including the deputy governor, Benson Abounu, who scored 81 votes.

Former Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu, Prof. Uche Ikonne, polled 468 votes to defeat five other contestants.
