Buhari, Senate order return of Obiano’s security aides withdrawn by Police

Must read

First, it was the Senate; now, it is President Muhammadu Buhari directing the Police high command to restore the security aides to Governor  Willie Obiano of Anambra State following a complaint from the State Chief Executive.
A statement by Presidential spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, said Buhari directed the reinstatement of the security aides.
Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, predicated the withdrawal on not wanting the Governor to have an unfair advantage over other contestants in next Saturday’s gubernatorial elections.
The Senate would have none of that, Wednesday, and told Idris to reinstate the withdrawn bodyguards and escorts.
Adesina disclosed that Obiano, while welcoming the President on arrival Wednesday in Awka for the Grand Finale of the All Progressives Congress Governorship Rally, complained about the withdrawal of his security aides.
“Before departing Awka, President Buhari directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations), Joshak Habila to ensure the return of the governor’s security personnel,” Adesina added.
In fact, the presidential spokesman attached a photograph to his statement which seemed to show Buhari handing down instructions to Habila.
