No truth to N7b story as Atiku denies rift with PDP

Must read

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar never said that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been hijacked by Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, and Party Chairman, Uche Secondus, a statement from his office has said.
The social media has been abuzz with the claim, including another, allegedly by Secondus, that the former number two citizen left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for PDP to act as a mole. Secondus denied that and said it was laughable.
Many other stories were being thrown the way of the media last week, including ones of massive funds used to purchase delegates and a visible candidate during the last party convention.
Two governors were said to have allegedly conned a prominent citizen into releasing over N6 billion for delegates welfare, while a candidate got N1 billion for his efforts and to throw in the towel. Everyday.ng could not substantiate any of the two stories at press time.
One source describes it as preposterous and coming from “a bunch of hungry people who are recently coming together again to foist a curse on Nigeria, again..that is their own way of campaigning for 2019”
On Tuesday, Atiku Media Office said:
“It has come to the notice of the Atiku Media Office that there is a statement purportedly attributed to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar currently making the rounds on social media.
“We wish to state for the records that the purported statement aimed at pitching the Waziri Adamawa against the National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, PDP NEC, PDP Governors and stakeholders of the PDP is contrived and baseless.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Atiku Abubakar enjoys excellent relationship with Prince Uche Secondus, the Party’s NEC and all serving PDP Governors and stakeholders of the party.”
