Frank Kokori dies 80 years after, 30 years after June 12 struggle

The late founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reportedly died at about 1:30 am on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

According to his personal assistant, Atawada Barry Oke, the late Chief Kokori had been sick for a while adding that his condition worsened about a week ago.

He passed on in the early hours of Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the Mount Horeb Hospital, Warri, Delta State.

A renowned figure in the struggle for the actualisation of mandate of late Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993, Presidential Election, Kokori”s NUPENG shut down the nation for over a week 30 years ago.

He was later arrested by the military junta of General Sani Abacha, which kept him incarcerated for four years, until his release in June 1998 by Abacha’s successor, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
