There are many things we have brought from the world into the church system and thought it’s normal. They look innocent. One of such is the governance structure. We no longer have faith in the simplicity of leadership in the Bible which is authority by life and ministry, leadership that someone sees the life of God in one, and follows without questioning. There is this fear that if we don’t set leadership hierarchy clearly someone may jump the line and usurp leadership. It is this lack of faith that we no longer see the power or exercise of authority that those men like Moses or Peter had, hence no revival.
If we don’t allow Jesus to administer His work, we will never see revival. The Church has been helping Jesus to do His work, the kind Uzzah tried to do with regard to the ark and he was killed. Jesus doesn’t need any of our help. Jesus is sufficient to govern His work. Jesus wants us to abide in Him, to follow Him. That’s all. But we have devised all kinds of tools in the building of God’s house resulting to so much noise in the temple, 1kgs.6:7. The man sees his position as promotion, and lords it over others. How can we do this and expect revival?
